Drops & Map

Fortnite Drop Spots: Safe vs Hot Landings

A good drop is a plan, not a name on the map. Score contest, loot speed, and how you leave.

Score a drop in 10 seconds

Ask three questions: How many people land here? Can I get a gun in 20 seconds? Can I leave without crossing the whole zone?

Hot drops print kills and also print deaths. Edge spots print loot and sometimes a boring mid-game. Ranked wants expected value, not highlight clips.

Safe, medium, and hot plans

Safe: 0–2 contest. Chain two small POIs. Leave with shotgun, AR, and heals. Medium: 3–6 contest. Land outer roofs, take one fight max, leave by 2:00. Hot: only if you are warming mechanics, not climbing rank.

After you land, follow a loot order — not a loot wander. Use loot routes for timers.

Map names change each Fortnite season. Keep the geometry: roofs first, then inside, then a marked exit.

Leave on time

The drop is done when your slots are filled, not when the POI is empty. Late third parties farm players who stay to mop up.
